The Executive Committee (EC) is the superior institution for all TAREA activities. The board is meeting once in three months.

During these meetings, the following items are usually on the agenda:

• Presentation of current activities by the Executive Secretary
• Strategy development for planned or implemented activities
• Application formalities
• Preparation and presentation of reports and budgets

The EC is elected by the AGM every two years. There are regulations as to who is eligible for election, and from which part of the association they should come. Generally, however, every active member of TAREA (e.g. who has paid their annual subscription fee) is liable to become a member of the EC.
